    Frequently Asked Questions

The main factors to consider are horsepower, tipping load, and bucket size.

Typically, compact wheel loaders have 80 or fewer horsepower, then 150 to 200 horsepower, 200 to 250 horsepower, and 300 to 400 horsepower. If you compare wheel loaders based on horsepower, you would think that you could make an easy comparison, but you cannot because each manufacturer interprets horsepower differently.

In a stationary position, the tipping load is the payload that causes the rear tires to lift off the ground. This is a wheel loader’s maximum load that can be handled safely and effectively. However, this does not hold true for all wheel loaders because counterweights, tire size, hydroinflation, and chains can all affect tipping loads but not the machine’s size.

Bucket size is often used to indicate loader size, for example, a 6-yard loader has a 6-yard bucket. The bucket size could be increased by using a lighter material density as your standard if you wanted to put a bigger bucket on your machine. Don’t be fooled by salesmen who use bucket sizes without telling you which material they are using.

We rent wheel loaders with buckets ranging from 1 to 6 yards.

We also have attachments available, such as:

    • Forks
    • Toothed buckets
    • Mat grapples
    • Pallet grapples
    • Log grapples
    • Spoons
    • Snow blowers
    • Snow buckets
    • Pushers
